For a dozen years, Brian DeRoy has consulted on a wide-range of political campaigns and issues, serving as Communications Director in several key races in South Carolina, Ohio, Florida and Colorado. Brian is a contributor with Olson Strategies, having earned a decade long track record of trust.

It’s not enough to just have a website with a few issues and bullet points. Potential voters and supporters want to hear from a candidate to get an emotional connection - something Brian specializes in.

Brian served as the first (and longest tenured) Public Affairs Director for South Carolina State Treasurer Curtis Loftis.

From 2010 to 2013, Brian helped vault Treasurer Loftis to national status and  having the largest social media followings of any SC leader with the exception of the Governor.

Working with local and national reporters, Brian secured placement of the Treasurer's top issue - SC's pension fund in many publications, including a front page Sunday New York Times feature.

Getting Treasurer Loftis' message out included innovative videos. Here are a few samples of Brian's work.

Brian served as Communications Director for Congressman Joe Wilson's successful 2010 re-election, a race which became the most expensive in the history of the state due to the Congressman's "You lie" remark President Barack Obama. Brian navigated rapid response and media outreach to local and national outlets, including proactivly sending media pre-written material and edited video for direct placement.

Brian shot several unique videos of the Congressman doing jobs to promote the "Joe Means Jobs" tour. Campaign social media channels were also under Brian's direction and played a key role in rapid response tactics, that are vital to political and business settings.

Rep. Joe Wilson scores an 11% point win, here's election night.

Rails to Trails, Columbia

Ralis To Trails is a successful project of taking old railroad lines and turning them into bike or walking paths. The paths are proven to increase property values and quality of living for the communities they serve.

Columbia, SC has an old rail line that cuts right through the downtown. The path could link up such popular places like the University of South Carolina campus, the Vista and the Riverwalk. Now, citizens must unite to bring such an amenity to the Capital City.
